Thank you for your prayers and your good wishes.
Here are some prayers and meditations I’d like to share with you. They are like old friends to me, and I have spent a lot of time with them over the last week. I hope they are as comforting to you as they have been to me.
Refuse to fall down.
If you cannot refuse to fall down,
refuse to stay down.
If you cannot refuse to stay down
lift your heart toward heaven
and like a hungry beggar,
ask that it be filled,
and it will be filled.
You may be pushed down.
You may be kept from rising.
But no one can keep you
from lifting your heart
toward heaven —
It is in the midst of misery
that so much becomes clear.
The one who says nothing good
came of this,
is not yet listening. –Clarissa Pinkola Estes
Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart
and try to love the questions themselves …
Don’t search for the answers,
which could not be given to you now,
because you would not be able to live them.
And the point is, to live everything.
Live the questions now.
Perhaps then, someday far in the future,
you will gradually, without even noticing it,
live your way into the answer. –Rainer Maria Rilke
Let me meet who You want me to meet;
Tell me what You want me to say; and
Keep me out of your way. –Father Mychal Judge
Write it on your heart
that every day is the best day in the year.
He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day
who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with your old nonsense.
This new day is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays. –Ralph Waldo Emerson
