Prayers For Our Military : March 11-17

WWIIPlaque2

O Judge of the nations, we remember before you with grateful
hearts the men and women of our armed forces at home
and abroad who in the day of
decision ventured much for the liberties we now enjoy. We commend them to your gracious care and
keeping and we pray that day by day you will defend them with your heavenly
grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant
them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be. Grant
that we may not rest until all the people of this land share the
benefits of true freedom and gladly accept its disciplines.

Receive Lord all who have died in the hope of the resurrection, and those whose faith is known to you alone, that, with all the
saints, they may have rest in that place where there is no pain or grief, but life eternal. We pray for those who joined you in your heavenly kingdom this week, esp.

All this we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I am not sure why the formatting is messed up. I will try to have Pat look at the code later. The preview and visual both have spaces between the names. :/ This made me sad but also reminded me of how many families are still suffering for me and my freedom. The loss of even one life is a tragedy. I wonder how many were lost on the opposite side.

  2. Beautiful prayer, thank you for your post and prayer for those who have fallen.

Thank you Sandra. Check back every Monday for a list of those brave and valiant men and women who gave their lives for our country that week. I hope to honor those who lay down their lives for our freedom by making sure that people know their names and can pray for them and their families.
